Initial Fluid Dynamics Assessment (IFDA)
The Wrangler Group LLC (TWG) for an agreed upon upfront fee will provide an IFDA of a specific customer-identified fluid flow process step. The process step may be any one of a variety of problem areas or pinch points in a given process, either batch or continuous flow, in which scale up is already an issue or projected to be one. The IFDA may be based upon the Q Fluid Flow Model (QFFM). The QFFM is a novel theory developed based upon the flow of fluids in closed conduits which overcomes the short comings of the currently accepted theory of fluid dynamics particularly in the transitional and turbulent regions of the fluid flow regime. The customer deliverable will be a written report generated by TWG containing some basic computations, conclusions and recommendations based upon the customer stated objectives and guidance provided by the customer in advance.
Proposed Solution
Upon acceptance of the IFDA by the customer, TWG will offer a written proposal to the customer outlining one or more pathways to a resolution of the process step under study. The proposal will be project based and may be one of a variety of options such as (a) prototype development, (b) pilot phase study, or (c) a final product design suitable for deployment in a laboratory or production setting. All areas of fluid dynamic interest which involve either empty of packed conduits are included within the scope of work. Typical examples are flow meters, smart pumps, continuous flow chemistry, chromatographic separations both analytical and preparative.
Scale up Focus
The WRG has as its main focus scale up scenarios. This is where we believe that our proprietary know how can best be exploited due to the reality that on larger scale operations specific knowledge pertaining to the transitional and turbulent flow regimes is a necessary ingredient of the scale up process. In addition, since scale up invariably involves translations between empty and packed conduits, the QFFM is particularly relevant since it is the only theory capable of making this correlation either on a small or large scale.
